Bianca Becze Interview

Dear friends,

This time I have next to me Bianca Maria Becze, multiple national, international and european champion in AEROBIC GYMNASTICS.

Bianca started gymnastics at 3-4 and now she is component of National Team of Aerobic Gymnastics. Last year she won no less than 12 medals: 9 GOLD, 3 SILVER!

  • How did you get into the gym?

When I was 3-4 years old, my mother took me with her at the gym, but with no intentions of becoming an elite gymnast. She just wanted to take care of me, since she was an artistic gymnastics coach at the “CSS Petrosani” club. At that age, the temptation of doing gymnastics was huge, and I started learning everything, by playing. As time passed by, things started to get more and more serious, and gymnastics hours weren’t missing, from my everyday schedule.

After I learned basic things in the first seven years, doing artistic gymnastics, at the age of 11, I passed from artistic gymnastics, to aerobic gymnastics.

It was a really inspired choice, made by my mother and me, if I think about all the satisfactions I had from it, since now.

  • What are your memories from the time you first started sports?

I remember the gym from Petrosani, it was like my second home, since I was there, the most of the time during the day. I remember my first competition, when I had lost both of my gymnastics shoes, and with all the deductions I got, I still had the highest score. I remember every competition I had taken part, and the fact that, the person who was usually more nervous than me, was my mother. I remember that I always wanted to win medals, to be the best, and make it to the national team.

Everything that unites me with this sport, is a beautiful memory that is difficult to be forgotten.

  • What was the competition you won your first medal? How did you feel?

I won my first medal, at “Cupa Cetatiii Deva” competition, at my first participation in aerobic gymnastics. Although the competition was not so big, my surprise and my satisfaction were huge.

That medal, convinced me, that it was all worth it, and encouraged me to keep on going, and become the best.

  • What is the most important medal for you?

I can’t say that a single medal is the most important to me, every year I won a medal that represents something more for me.

In 2013 I won the gold medal, in mixed pairs category, with Marius Petruse, at the World Games, that took place in Columbia. This gold medal, is the most important from my record, and there are many memories, regarding this medal.

It was for the first time, that a differentiation couldn’t be made, and 4 gold medals were awarded, with myself and Marius, being among the happy ones. I will not forget, that things weren’t really clear in the backstage, before the official standings were confirmed, and I will never forget the happiness that followed. I think that for the first time, everyone was happy.

  • Are you happy with the results you had in 2013?

2013, was the most successful competitional year, since now.

I won 3 gold medals and 3 silver, just from the European Championship and the World Games. For the first time as a senior, I became national champion, in the individual category. I achieved everything that I wanted, and even more. Some time ago, I was just hoping of having some good results.

I couldn’t have achieved all these things alone, my coaches and colleagues, played a really big role in everything I accomplished, and I really want to thank them.

  • What is the most difficult period of the year, regarding trainings?

The feeling that I mostly hate, is that when my muscles are sore, and everything hurts, and when I get back to training, after a small period of vacation, it’s terrifying. I get back in shape really difficult, but I know my deficits, and I know that everything will find its way in time.

Personally, I believe that the most difficult trainings, are before big competitions, because the psychological part plays an important role.

  • Your best competitional experience was….?

World Games, that took place in Columbia.

It was the best atmosphere that an athlete can enjoy. There were 18000 spectators that simply took your breath away, just by being there. I had “goose bumps” when I competed.  Everything that happened there was simply beautiful…..emotions that I can hardly explain.

  • What are your goals for 2014?

As an athlete, I hope that 2014 will be a year, without injuries, so that I will be able to perform at my highest potential at every competition. The rest will come….

Interviu Bianca Becze

Dragi prieteni,

994548_486787884745058_2075122245_n

  • Esti multumita de rezultatele obtinute in anul 2013?

  • Ce ti-ai propus in anul 2014?

Pe plan sportiv, sper ca 2014 sa fie un an fara accidentari, sa pot concura in forma maxima la toate competitiile. Restul vine de la sine…

Amelia Racea Interview

Dear friends,

Today I will talk with Amelia Racea.

Racea started gymnastics at the age of 6 and won her first all around national title in her age category in 2007. In 2008 she joined the junior national team in Deva. She had a successful junior career, medaling at various international competitions. She won silver on beam and bronze on floor and placed fourth all around and with the team at the 2008 Junior European Championships. In 2009 she placed fifth all around at the prestigious American Cup ahead of more experienced gymnasts such as Koko Tsurumi and Kristina Goryunova. If not for a fall from uneven bars she might have placed higher. Later that year she won the all around junior title at both the City of Jesolo Trophy in Italy and the Lugano Trophy in Switzerland. The 10th European Youth Olympic Festival in Tampere was a very successful meet for Racea. Here she won a total of six medals, two gold (vault and beam) and four silver (floor, uneven bars, all around and with the team).

Racea’s senior debut at a major international competition was at the2010 European Championships. Here she qualified for the vault and floor finals and contributed to the team bronze medal. In the beam final she replaced the top qualifier Ana Porgras who withdrew due to an ankle injury.

She won the gold medal on beam and placed fifth on floor and seventh on vault.

  • What are you doing in the present?

Well, in the present I am a student at the University of Sports, in Bucharest.

  • What are your memories, from the time you started this sport?

I started gymnastics, at the age of 6, at the “Cetate Deva” club. My coaches, were Micu Ramona, Cotutiu Florin, and choreograph Corina Doreanu. During my career there were many moments, when I wanted to give up on gymnastics, but my parents and my coaches, were always next to me, no matter what happened,  and encouraged me, and I want to thank them.

  • Do you miss the atmosphere from the gym? Do you miss the team, coaches?

Yes, I definitely miss it. I miss waking up every morning, knowing that I have two training sessions a day, and be with my colleagues and coaches all day. Although there were days, that weren’t so good, I always tried to motivate myself, and get over it, because I knew that my work will someday, pay off.

  • What is your favorite medal?

All my medals are really important to me. I worked really hard, for each one of them, and I was happy every time I had a good result, but the most important medal was the one I won on beam, at the European Championship in Birmingham, in 2010.

  • What is your biggest regret, from your career as an athlete?

My biggest regret is that, I couldn’t be on the team for the 2012 Olympic Games, in London, because of an injury I had at my back, just 2 weeks before the departure for the Olympics.

  • Your best experience from a competition was…?

The best experience, was at the 2010 Europeans, when I found out that although I was as first reserve for the beam finals, I could compete, and opening the competition. I was really nervous, until the final ended, and realized that I had won the gold medal. It was the best and unique feeling.

  • What was your model athlete, for perfectioning yourself as an athlete?

I appreciated, and appreciate all elite athletes. I don’t know if I can say I had a model athlete that I would look up to. I was always trying, to be in a permanent competition with myself, see what my limits are, and if I could pass them.

  • What are your future plans?

In the near future, I will take part in a project that ms.Mariana Bitang and  mr. Octavian Bellu, called “Relaunching Romanian Gymnastics”, and I want to thank them for involving me in the project.

Interviu Amelia Racea

Dragi prieteni,

Catalina Ponor Interview

Dear friends,

Today I have CATALINA PONOR here with me!

Catalina Ponor  is a Romanian Artistic Gymnast. She won three gold medals at the 2004 Summer Olympics , on balance beam, floor, and as part of the Romanian team. She also obtained a silver medal on floor and a bronze medal as part of the Romanian team at the 2012 Summer Olympics, as well as multiple World Championship and European Championship medals.

Let’s get to the facts!

  • What are you now doing for a living?

I am co-designer for a leotards line created by Domyos-Decathlon (France) and whenever I have some spare time I help coaching Camelia Voinea’s gymnastics team that represents Farul Club. I am also working on a new project but I’ll talk more about that at the right time.

  •  Are you missing your coaches and the atmosphere in gym?

Always! Gymnastics has been and will always be my first love. I spent 21 years in the gymnastics hall and it’s natural to miss it and also to miss the competition nerves and the coaches. Maybe at one point I’ll get used to the idea that I’m not a gymnast anymore but I think I’ll always miss it.

  •  You took quite a long break after Athen’s Olympic Games. What brought you back to the gym and why for London’s OG?

My wish was to take part to another Olympic Games Competition. I did try to come back for Beijing but it didn’t happen because of injuries. When I came back in the training hall to get ready for London I promised myself I’d overcome any injury or any tough moment I might go trough only to be able to experience one more time those wonderful moments and feelings when you proudly represent your country. I knew not everyone is lucky enough to get to compete on an Olympic level and that motivated me even more to prove myself that if I really set my mind to do something I can do it.

  •  Which is your favorite medal?

National or international medal I cherish them all the same but I have to say that the one from the Athens OG, from the team finals is the most special one. The emotions and the happy tears that rolled down our faces when we found out that we became Olympic Champions cannot be compared with anything else. There are no words to describe that! Both us and the coaches worked tremendously for that success. For that I will always THANK my family, my teammates, the first coaches who have discovered me and the coaches from the Olympic Team.

  •  Tell me a little bit about your leotards range that you co-design for Domyos? Why them?

Apparently the saying “Be careful what you wish for ‘cause it might happen..” is true. I’ve always wished for my own leotards collection but all of the sudden I got this text from Domyos asking me to start collaborating with them. We are still in the beginning phase of this partnership but our first collection is already in stores. It is a new challenge for me and both me and the rest of the team are trying to come up with something beautiful for our consumers.

  •  Any plans for the future?

I have a lot of plans that I am working on and I promise I’ll talk more about them whenever the timing will be right.

THANKS!

Lipnitskaya is just 15 years old and is backing up the deserved hype surrounding her as she makes her senior debut in Sochi. A score of 141.51 as the last of five competitors on the ice was good enough to beat Gold’s stellar 129.38.

That also gave Russia 10 points and allowed the host nation to clinch the gold medal in the inaugural team competition.
